Carlo Calma Consultancy draws from The Philippines' rich seafaring heritage and natural beauty for the WAF-shortlisted Hotel Elizabeth Resort and Villas

The prestigious annual architecture event had finally announced the 2023 finalists that include 11 Filipino projects, including a farm resort, a micro-housing, and a mixed-used building.

The Infinity House bested entries from several other countries. Congratulations as well to all the Philippine entries that made it in the Awards Finals. The Infinity House by Carlo Calma was nominated by ACI Philippines Chapter and Philippine Constructors Association (PCA) after winning in the same category in the Philippines Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards.

Twelve big-picture architectural initiatives addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges have won the first of this year’s World Architecture Festival (WAF) Awards. The 2021 WAFX Awards celebrate project proposals from across the world tackling today’s global issues, ranging from pandemic control and the climate emergency, to social equity, cultural identity, aging populations, and food supply.

A total of 534 projects from 70 countries were shortlisted by the WAF, with the event scheduled from December 4 to 6 in Amsterdam.
